Updated! Fun Infographic Promotes Pitch NYC for Women 2.0 (@women2)

One of the events I’ll regret not attending this year is the Pitch NYC conference on Wednesday November 14 of this year. Here’s a description of the event from their site:

PITCH NYC Conference & Competition will be:

  • A collaborative forum for aspiring entrepreneurs to be empowered as self-sustaining founders.
  • A place for burgeoning ideas to share their concepts at the Startup Competition.
  • A platform for successful innovators in technology to share success stories and best practices.

PITCH NYC is a full day of speakers and panels sharing case studies, best practices and stories of successful business disruption in today’s new entrepreneur economy. The startup competition will allow attendees to watch live pitches and questioning from the judges – learn from both sides of the table in the audience at PITCH NYC, and vote for your favorite startup to win People’s Choice!

that’s not even UP my alley, it IS my alley. But alas, I have business nearby in the District, so unless they figure out how to teach humans to co-locate by then, I can’t go.

But of course, I hold out hope for the next best thing – live-tweeting and a video feed.

While I was researching whether any part of the event would be live streamed, I came across a neat infographic via a post from Amy Vernon at Internet Media Labs, about the attendees, mentors and speakers at the event. It just seems like such a fun way to promote an event that I thought I’d post it here for you to enjoy with links back to Women 2.0.

Those of you who know me may remember that I’m not a huge fan of the infographic in general. Sometimes they’re lazy, and other times they choose flash over reality when representing the data they are supposed to be based on. What I loved about this one was the enthusiasm, and how it highlighted the value of women in their line up of speakers, without that exclusionary tone that occasionally comes across in marketing for women-targeted events.

It made me yearn to be there even more. (Shakes fist at Women 2.0!)
